Karel, Shirley M. age 70, of Burnsville, passed away Sept. 21, 2006, after a courageous battle with MS. Preceded in death by father, Clarence Klecker. Survived by her loving husband, Eugene; children, Javier (Evelyn) Karel, Maritza (Jeff) Prom and Ricardo Karel; 5 grandchildren; mother, Carolyn Klecker; siblings, Eldean (William) Tingerthal, James (Nancy) Klecker, Jack (Connie) Klecker, Mary (Dale) Hillman and Carole Klecker.

Shirley (Sister John Mary) was in the order of Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet for 17 years teaching English and math at Grand Forks, ND, Winsted, MN and Holy Angels in Mpls, MN. After leaving the order, Shirley taught English and math for a number of years at Burnsville High School. She loved spending time painting and being with her family. Mass of Christian Burial 10 AM Tuesday at Presentation of Our Lady Chapel, 1880 Randolph Ave., St. Paul, with visitation Monday 4-8 PM at the White Funeral Home, 14560 Pennock Ave., and one hour prior to Mass at church. Interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Memorials will be donated to the MS Society of Minnesota. White Funeral Home Apple Valley 952-432-2001
